In the 1930’s during the great depression, Hazel’s dad had to hop on a train to  find more work. Before that he practice with Hazel. After he left town, Hazel  heard her little brother, Timmy, outside playing baseball, so she went out there and asked “Need an out fielder?” They said no because she was a girl. Later she tried out for the Chattanooga Lookouts. They said you can try it. That night they face the New York Yankeys. When Hazel pitched she struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig and she struck out the best players. Later tommorow his brothers friends let her play.
